What is your Why, why do you do what you do, why do you love it, why are you passionate about it? And why is having a strong enough why so essential to every aspect of your business?
Because without a strong enough Why in a hospitality or tourism business you will struggle to get through the rough days. There will be hard days, those days when you walk into your venue and the shiny and newness has worn off, when you have to drag yourself out of bed early in the morning only to work until the late hours of the night. Days when you struggle to pay your bills or your staff, days when you invest in training people only for staff to leave you a month later.
One of hospitality and tourism businesses primary goals should be getting repeat customers in your venue. With so much business and marketing focus going into getting new customers through your doors, are you business planning to retain existing customers as part of your overall strategy?
As the saying goes;
“It’s seven times more expensive to get new customers than to retain existing ones”.
So how do you retain customers? Here are our top five tips
I walked into a restaurant the other day, and I couldn’t for the life of me tell you who they were because they had no visible branding anywhere!!!......ANYWHERE!
No signs out the front, no sandwich boards, no logo on their menu, no branding on their glassware, cups, serviettes… Nothing.
Might not seem like a big deal right? But it made sure that I wasn’t left with an impression of who this business was. If someone had said their name to me a week later, I would have probably looked blankly at them not knowing who they were. Lack of branding is such a missed opportunity to connect with your customers.
