It really is true that when you support a local business, a real person actually does a happy dance. For all those who run a business you know that every person that refers your work, recommends your restaurant or brings their friends to visit your cellar door is like a sweet gift for your business and more importantly to you personally.
It gives you hope in the future, and it means the world when you work so hard in your business day in day out.
“What does success look like to you?” It’s a question that many struggle to answer as they busily go about their lives, having no idea of where they want to be, and what they want to achieve.
Asking this question, I get so many different responses including things like - making lots of money, building a great company, achieving work-life balance, having a nice family, being able to afford a holiday each year, and so on…
No doubt about it, running a business is a wild ride. One minute you’re up, one minute you're down. One minute you think you know all the things and the next you are pondering your approach. It is a continual exercise of growth, of change, and of new possibilities. It is as exciting as it is nerve-wracking.
A client said to me recently, ‘this approach doesn't seem to be working anymore because we were the only one’s doing it, and now heaps of venues are doing the same thing.’
