Whilst on holiday recently someone said to me they believed it crucial to hire bubbly, happy, and energetic people for customer service roles in hospitality and tourism businesses; so much so that it can make or break a business.
They are bang on, because having the right people can take your business from ordinary to extraordinary. But customer service, and teaching those vital skills shouldn’t just be reserved for the people who serve customers daily as first point of contact. Those skills need to be instilled in every person in your business.
2018 has been a pretty massive year for us at BK. It has been full of wonderful clients and exciting opportunities, and in taking a minute to look holistically at the year that was, here is what I’ve learnt from 2018.
It really is true that when you support a local business, a real person actually does a happy dance. For all those who run a business you know that every person that refers your work, recommends your restaurant or brings their friends to visit your cellar door is like a sweet gift for your business and more importantly to you personally.
It gives you hope in the future, and it means the world when you work so hard in your business day in day out.
